Update 6 for Vectorworks 2025 is a refinement-driven update that brings smarter performance, greater stability, and more reliable workflows across the product line. Whether you’re navigating massive files, collaborating across platforms, or fine-tuning designs, this update helps you with fewer interruptions and more confidence. Let’s look at what’s in store.

FOR ALL INDUSTRIES

At the core of Update 6 are performance enhancements that make certain everyday tasks smooth and predictable.

You’ll see better navigation in large files packed with viewports, improved handling of worksheet formulas from older versions, and faster performance when exporting DXF/DWG files — especially when sharing with non-Autodesk applications.

If you work with DWG files containing double-byte characters, you’ll find sharp and stable import performance. You’ll also find improved rendering behavior when applying textures to wall styles with no components and better handling of very small floating view panes.

FOR THE ARCHITECTURE, LANDSCAPE, AND ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRIES

If you’re using Architect, Spotlight, or Landmark, you’ll notice cleaner presentations and steadier performance in section viewports when hiding geometry using Data Visualization. Viewport Styles also preserve lighting emitter settings for white color temperature. Additionally, Update 6 delivers fixes to issues that occurred when exporting PDFs or images from Top/Plan view.

FOR THE ARCHITECTURE AND LANDSCAPE INDUSTRIES

For Architect and Landmark professionals, this update makes IFC and COBie exports more dependable, thanks to wall geometry and data structure improvements — this creates more reliable data exchange and boosted confidence for IFC collaboration workflows.

Worry less about restrictive naming conventions with updates to how texture names with special characters are handled in Revit exports.

You’ll also find improved stability when deleting Psets in the Data Manager.

FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY

Cable tools now guard against duplicate dimmer numbers, so reports are more accurate without manual cleanup.

Truss models from the Prolyte resource library — specifically H30D-100, X30D-100, and H30V-200 — now behave reliably in your projects.

If Spotlight detects that the Vision plug-in is missing, it now handles it gracefully.

And for those using Braceworks, updates to the HD31 truss help ensure your structural calculations remain accurate and aligned with the latest specs.
