Wężyk Architekci Studio, based in Warsaw, has worked on architectural projects of all types for over 10 years. The designers have realized their full potential by switching to Vectorworks from AutoCAD.

“The introduction of BIM technology with Vectorworks has allowed us to participate in large data center facility projects, which require efficient communication between designers from different parts of the world and effective coordination of all design works,” said the leading architect, Tomasz Wężyk.

The switch to Vectorworks was a response to the team’s need to collaborate on large, multidisciplinary projects, and their desire to centralize their design process instead of using several different design tools.

“Implementing Vectorworks was nothing new to us. It was a continuation on what we were doing before,” said Joanna Jabłońska, architect at Wężyk Architekci Studio. “However, using one platform that combines the functionality of the programs used so far has allowed me to personally shorten and optimize my working time.”

Wężyk Architekci Studio previously used AutoCAD. Over the years, the firm has developed its own unique library of symbols, objects, and procedures made in AutoCAD. Employees at Design Express, Vectorworks’ French distribution partner, were able to help transfer these libraries from AutoCAD into Vectorworks so the firm could continue taking advantage of their years-long efforts.

Today, Wężyk Architekci are still working with their familiar libraries but are implementing them into more holistic 3D and BIM workflows.

“Our design partners work in a variety of programs, both BIM and non-BIM,” Jabłońska said. “Communication between us takes place without any problems. We export files to IFC and DWG formats. We also have no problems opening files received from our industry.”
