Here is your opportunity to immortalize your best work in the pages of a glossy, full-color, coffee-table book. That’s right, your very own work in print for all to see! To commemorate all the breathtaking designs we have seen over the years, we are publishing a book dedicated entirely to CAD designs.

Images of CAD will be the first book of this nature for Diehl Graphsoft, and we are encouraging our entire user base, from all over the globe, to submit designs. Not only will your work receive international recognition, but you will also receive a complimentary copy of Images of CAD for participating.

This book is a tribute rather than a contest, and selected entries will have the flexibility of showcasing work designed with MiniCAD VectorWorks in conjunction with other programs.

Diehl Graphsoft’s products have always been built on solid technology; this in no small part is due to user input. The level of excellence we have achieved with VectorWorks may be attributed directly to the hard work of both our staff and our dedicated user base. Over the years, our engineers have relied on your feedback for creation of new and improved product features. This will not change. We are now working on VectorWorks 9 and remain on our current development path. In fact, we have been hard at work tailoring the application to better support both Mac and Windows OS’s. Our longtime Mac users will be especially pleased with our support of OS X.

So, what will change? The answer: very little. Diehl Graphsoft will exist as an autonomous unit of Nemetschek AG, the third largest software developer in Germany. There will be no layoffs, and no products will be deserted. We’ll continue to grow, and look forward to moving into our new facility late this summer.

Some questions have also been raised about the possible combination of Nemetschek’s and Diehl Graphsoft’s products. Nemetschek’s CAD offerings are not only targeted toward a different market segment, they’re expensive and both Windows and European-specific. VectorWorks will become the platform program Nemetschek will enlist to fulfill its goal of becoming an international CAD leader.

Mere months after its January launch, Diehl Graphsoft announced today that sales of its premier add-on product, VectorWorks ARCHITECT, have surpassed initial expectations. ARCHITECT, the first in a series of add-ons for VectorWorks, the company’s core product, has generated more than $200,000 in sales in the first quarter of 2000.
