Swiss VectorWorks Users Win Prestigious National Award for Max Bill-Platz
Columbia, Maryland (March 11, 2008)Nemetschek North America congratulates three Swiss VectorWorks users for winning Switzerland's most prestigious landscape architecture award, the 2007 "Golden Hare." Each year, Hochparterre magazine and the Swiss national television network, Schweizer Fernsehen, award the Golden Hare to the winning entries in the categories of architecture, landscape architecture, and design. This year, the firms Haerle Hubacher Architekten, Schweingruber Zulauf Landschaftsarchitekten, and Zschokke Gloor Landschaftsarchitekten received the award in the landscape architecture category for their collaboration on the Max Bill-Platz in Zurich.
According to the jury, the Max Bill-Platz is a successful interpretation of art in a public space and a result of an intense dialogue with the work of architect and artist Max Bill.
The 14,000 square-meter plaza is located in western Zurich and poses a sharp contrast to the surrounding buildings. Unique to the public space is its black, white, and grey design that recalls patterns found in ancient Pompeii and throughout the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
