| I know that our organizational changes probably aren't the most intriguing of topics for you. And that what happens inside our R&D organization is mostly invisible to those outside our company. But we have some really big changes that I believe will have a huge impact on your experience as a customer, and I'm excited to tell you what they are. Effective September 15th, some important changes to our R&D and technology teams at Nemetschek N.A. will take place. Leading off, Dr. Biplab Sarkar will become our new Chief Technology Officer. Many of you have come to know Biplab over the past eight years, as he's led the Geometry team and moved our modeling technology forward by leaps and bounds. His background includes many years in leading development teams at a variety of MCAD companies, and he's brought a consistent and far-ranging vision on how to apply his background to our markets. Biplab will help keep VectorWorks ahead of the curve in modeling technology for designers. Paul Pharr will become our Chief Information Officer responsible for IT, management information systems, web applications and delivery technologies. As we continue to grow globally, deepening our relationship with each of you will require that we increasingly rely on technology to do so. Whether this happens through software updates, account management or product feedback, it's important that we have a way to communicate electronically. When we expand this relationship to include building a community for you to pool your knowledge as VectorWorks users, a new technology infrastructure becomes even more important. Also on the list of key changes: Integrated Products will now be named Integrated Practice to better reflect its mission in the organization. Robert Anderson continues as vice president of this group whose focus has been tuned to the development of best practice workflows, samples and recommendations. It will include, in particular, our ongoing work to bring real recommendations to our customers about how VectorWorks fits into the world of BIM. Robert's team will also continue to bring you world-class content for your industries. Even though these changes won't show up in our marketing brochures, we'd like you to know that our team of technology experts is better organized, now than ever, to meet your needs as a customer. |

You probably know this already: Nemetschek N.A. is a corporate sponsor of AIAS. This past summer, we were able to meet a number of the AIAS chapter leaders during the Grassroots Leadership Conference. The conference, held in D.C., was one of those "you had to be there to believe it" events. The room was filled with your peers -- upbeat, optimistic and intelligent young leaders. And while it certainly doesn't do justice to the vibrancy experienced there, we did send a photographer to capture some of the excitement and energy of the event. You can take a look at the pictures here. (Hey, if you were at Grassroots this summer, add a comment or two on the Flickr pictures… maybe even pass along the photos to your friends who were also there.) And, remember, your friends who are also in college can receive a * FREE * copy of VectorWorks Designer. All they need to do is fill out the info on this website form then download the software once they're approved. Text your friends and let them know because... Together, we'll build the future.
