| Whew….last week was one of the busiest weeks of the year! We held our annual international distributor conference here in Columbia. For our product sales overseas, Nemetschek utilizes an international reseller channel, and each year we gather and discuss the future of our products and the markets in which they're sold. These companies work closely with us and are responsible for promoting, localizing, and—in many cases—translating the product for your needs. When you see VectorWorks in Japanese, Dutch or German you have one of our distributors to thank. As you can imagine, this makes for a lively and exciting conference; especially when discussion turns to industry-specific needs. Although a certain amount of design is common around the world, details like adding geothermal heating in Iceland, choosing plants for the Australian bush or laying out tatami mats in Japan require a tremendous amount of local expertise. At the root, a very flexible design system is also required. Since flexibility is at the core of all VectorWorks products, it is important that we recognize these needs. The meeting was filled with excitement as we shared our vision for the future. Our partners were very clear in their wishes—keep developing the modeling and graphic richness of VectorWorks to maximize its usefulness across industries and borders. |
