eDispatch Vol 73

Hot on the heels of BIMStorm LAX, we're part of the month-long BIMStorm for New Orleans that is exploring how technology can be used to allow real-time integration of design teams working in a disaster area. Onuma and the R&D team at Nemetschek North America have worked together to significantly improve IFC translation between our products. If you are interested in participating, please contact Jeff Ouellette at jouellette@nemetschek.net within the next two weeks for more information. BIMStorm is designed to allow collaboration across distance and time zones, so, wherever you are, feel free to become part of this technology showcase. I personally can't wait for technology like this to trickle down to my local building permit office!

For students in the U.S., there's still time to enter our architectural design competition. In conjunction with our sponsor, Architect magazine, and with the support of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS), we're looking for students using VectorWorks to show off their architectural design talent. Winners in each category win a trip to the national AIA conference in Boston, where you'll present to our panel of accomplished architecture educators and professionals. The grand prize winner will be featured publicly and get a head start on their architectural career. We're looking for entrants in interior environment (ambience), functionality, and design integration. Entries for the student design competition are due April 25, so visit our web site today for details on how to enter. Good luck!
