eDispatch Vol 63

May is a busy month for us on the trade show circuit, which gives us many great opportunities to meet up with our users and share some of our latest happenings with you in person. The 2007 AIA National Convention in San Antonio earlier this month was one such opportunity.

Events like these also give our users the chance to showcase their work. We were fortunate to have on hand at our booth several of our users to demonstrate the power of VectorWorks Architect in the context of their work. Nathan Kipnis Architects Inc. out of Chicago and Austin VectorWorks user group leader Francois Levy presented green projects they completed using VectorWorks. And San Antonio’s Seidel + Associates Inc. showcased several recent projects, as well.

A first for us at this year’s conference was a happy hour honoring our award-winning VectorWorks users. The event was well attended, and we thank everyone for stopping by. Incidentally, our booth was right next to Autodesk’s booth, which gave us the fortuitous opportunity to attract some AutoCAD attendees who were entertaining making a switch and introduce them to VectorWorks.

We look forward to catching up with you at future events and welcome hearing from those of you who might be interested in being a VectorWorks guest speaker at a particular event. Please contact Jeremy Powell if you’re interested.

Gunther Miller

Introducing Gunther Miller, Nemetschek's Quality Assurance Manager. Gunther started at NNA over 8 years ago. He oversees the Quality Assurance Department, which is responsible for finding and reporting bugs to the engineers.

If I could be someone famous for a day, I would be...
David Letterman, since he’s able to make just about everyone laugh.

My biggest guilty pleasure is...
Slot machines

If I were a cartoon character, I would be...
The Road Runner. Generally quiet and able to run very fast!

The thing most people don't know about me is....
I achieved 10 years of perfect school attendance, I was going for 12. A family trip in second grade caused an absence from school for two weeks. I probably missed the bus a couple times in first grade.

When I was young I...
Wanted to be a dentist. I’ve always enjoyed intricate projects that involve using my hands.

If I had a million dollars, I would....
Pursue a number of entrepreneurial ideas I’ve investigated over the years. Eliminate my mortgage and purchase a Scottish Fold.
