MiniCAD 7.0.3 Final Fix List
Fixed in 7.0.3
- Text that is rotated 90 degrees ends up
rotated 180 degrees from the expected result
when rotated -90 degrees in MiniPascal.
- When clicking in text in 7.0.3 betas on
Windows, the data bar redraws using that
text block's font and size.
- When saving files to a network volume on Windows 95, saving fails if that volume has not been assigned a drive letter.
Fixed in 7.0.3b4
- Interactive light aiming is broken on the
Macintosh (7.0.3 beta only).
- After using the Duplicate Array command,
some extra objects are sometimes selected.
- After locking a value in the data bar, snapping
for alignments is disabled.
- When using MiniCAD with the decimal separator
set to commas, the Num2Str and Num2StrF functions
do not work if the parameter is any numerical
variable; the only thing that works is an integer
constant.
- Printing from Windows to a Xerox-Acolor/SM
ICS prints differently than the Macintosh version.
- When in final render modes, the drawing must
be re-rendered after printing.
- When opening certain MiniCAD 6 files in the
full (non-educational) version of MC 7.0.1,
the program mistakenly thinks that the files
were saved by the educational version, so the "MiniCAD
Educational Version" watermark appears
in printouts.
- Large MiniPascal procedures which used to
compile in MiniCAD 6 run out stack space when
executing in MiniCAD 7.
- Memory allocation for reading DXF/DWG 'mtext'
is handled incorrectly, giving out of memory
errors even when memory is available.
- SetTextSize SDK callback fails to reset the
width of the text block properly.
- There is a serious memory leak triggered
by using the 3D cursor tool to drag a 3D object.
This causes MiniCAD to crash after repeatedly
dragging objects or using 3D rotation tools.
- The perspective pop-up menu in the set 3d
view dialog selects the incorrect perspective
if the dialog is invoked while the drawing
is in plan projection.
- Perimeters of round rects are incorrectly calculated in the Object Info palette.
Fixed in 7.0.3b3
- If you group walls with symbols attached
and click on one of the symbols with the selection
tool, MiniCAD will crash.
- Moving an object always switches to the snap-drag
cursor, even if you are not over a snap point.
- When using the databar to constrain both
the x and y coordinates of the mouse, screen
hints no longer appear.
- The chamfer tool does not set the chamfer
in the proper location when the chamfer distances
are unequal.
- When printing filled arcs to postscript devices,
an extra radius line is printed.
- After printing, buttons in the interface with round corners redraw with a black background.
Fixed 7.0.3b2
- With Windows 95B (or OS 2.1) and some newer
video cards, MiniCAD leaks resources rapidly,
which leads to low-memory errors.
- With the MiniCAD windows version (7.0.1)
it's not possible to create text in a different
color then black. If you set the default pen
foreground color for example to red and then
write some text, the characters are black instead
of red. On the Mac this works. Assigning a
color to the text after creating the text also
works.
- EPS files appear to shift the position of
lines by their line weight.
- If you zoom in to a drawing and scroll with
the arrow keys MiniCAD will have a memory leak
and eventually crash.
- Bounding boxes were incorrect when files
with solids were moved between platforms.
- Patterns don't print correctly when black
background is set.
- Custom line thicknesses do not show up in
the Attribute palette when selected.
- Color Palette & Line-colors
- Draw several rectangles.
- The line-color of the object the first drawn is red.
- Second drawn is yellow, Third drawn is blue ...so on.
- Select all.
- Select "Red" line-color on the line-color palette.
- T lines of objects do not change to Red color.
Fixed 7.0.3b1
- Using the MiniPascal procedure PrimaryUnits()
causes all symbols and walls to increase their
size by a factor of 10000 thereby corrupting
the drawing and eventually leading to a crash.
- Precision is reduced unnecessarily on drawings
with multiple scales and symbol definitions
(not instances, definitions) that don't fit
on the layer with the smallest scale. [For
drawings to pick up the benefits from this
fix, a field must be changed on the Units dialog,
the Scale dialog, or the Drawing Size dialog
that causes a recalculation of the precision.]
- VDelete('view name') doesn't work.
- The bounding boxes for text are not always
being calculated correctly. For example, if
you draw a line of c's across the page on a
1:1 layer, zoom out 3 times, add a new layer
at 1:100, then go back in and look at the text,
the bounding box is too large.
- WINDOWS: Print different lines (0¡,
45¡, 90¡) of the same thickness
(eg. 20 mils): they are printed with a different
thickness. This has been experienced on a DesignJet & Epson
printer. No problem on a postscript printer.
- Hatches with many lines would sometimes not
print to postscript devices or export to EPSF
correctly.
- Printing to some Windows drivers cause MiniCAD
to hang when you hit print.
- When all snaps have been turned off in the
constraint palette, snap to objects is still
active.
- Some QD3D renderings on Windows would have
thin triangles leading off to infinity.
- Importing DXF/DWG files that have symbols
with names that have more than 20 characters
that begin with the same first 20 characters
will import incorrectly.
- When importing DXF/DWG files, some dimension
text begins with "1;".
- Snapping is broken for all 3D symbols in
plan projection.
- Picking is broken for all 3D symbols containing
groups or group-like objects in plan projection.
- Snapping fails randomly for 3D symbols even when in a 3D projection.
Fixed in 7.0.3b0
- Undo for wall reshape does not allow redo.
- Sometimes the symbol insertion tool redraws
the entire screen after inserting a symbol.
- Names of Formats and names of Record Fields
can only be 20 characters long. However, there
is no indication of this to the user. Longer
names can be typed in but they are truncated
after 20 characters. Also, new formats must
have at least one field, but this is not made
obvious to the user.
- Constraint selections not stored in saved
document.
- Using the resource palette to browse in an
*external* symbol library folder that is nested
2 deep or deeper, I can't 'pop-up' one level
to get to another symbol definition without
going up to the top of the document.
- Can't reshape objects proportionally. Shift
key constrains to symmetric (90° reshape
angle).
- Cannot draw a tangent line from a point to
a circle, only from the circle to the point.
- On greater than 24x36 drawings at 1/8" scale,
after setting the grid snap to 1/8", the
grid snap reverts to .13" not .125. This
isn't round off of the display. The actual
grid snap becomes 0.13000".
- Align H and Align V did not appear for a
while in a particular file (the necessary constraints
were on). Other screen hints still worked.
After I switched to a different file and switched
back to the first file, Align H and Align V
worked.
- With the scale set to 1/4 and the snap to
grid set to 6" and the reference grid
set to 12" the constraint, snap to grid,
does not work with the angle snap on.
- 30, 60 and 45° constraints should be
on by default, particularly for the sake of
existing users who are used to the shift key
snapping at these angles.
- When drawing parallel lines, one may not
use the smart cursor horizontal or vertical
extensions to constrain the lines to the same
length. The lines never appear, even if the
endpoint of the previous line is a datum point
and the snap to point constraint dialog has
been properly set. It seems that you can briefly
activate the extension line by opening a new
drawing, using the Smart Cursor there and switching
back.
- Asymmetric snap grid does not rotate when
grid is rotated.
- Wall framer - If you select the wall framer
options, and change the wall class with the
slider at the top of the window to Exterior,
the lumber will appear to automatically change
to 2x6. But after you have used the framer,
it only delivers a 2x4 wall. If you return
to the options menu, the lumber will have re-set
to 2x4 as well.
- The callbacks GetFillPattern and SetFillPattern
don't work for dimensions.
- Export Text - An error output file created
when a document export to Text format has symbols
which use 'Link Text to Record.'
- Export Text - Sometimes, color attributes
do not export correctly.
- More than one worksheet cannot be opened
at a time using the resource palette.
- Sweeping an oval with the 3D conversion resolution
set to High or Very High creates an illegal
sweep.
- Arcs with very large diameters do not import
from DXF or DWG.
- Create worksheet, click "on drawing" check
box on resource palette, Paste PICT, Set fill
fore color of PICT, click "on-drawing",
click "on- drawing": Now the text
of the worksheet-on-drawing is blue too.
- Undoing the rotation of a diametral dimension
moves the position of the dimension.
- Exporting EPS, DXF, DWG and Text file types
on a disk without enough room will create an
incomplete output file without warning.
- Many snap constraints cannot be saved with
a custom tool.
- With snap to intersection turned on, lines
cannot be drwain inside of filled circles.
- When trying to recursively nest 3D symbols
crashes occur randomly after the warning dialog.
- When in mm and using A4 paper, the "One
Page" option cannot be selected with some
drivers.
- Grid Creator crashes.
- Wall Framer Framing Type dialog does not
display lumber size in current drawing units.
- On Windows, Join should become Join and Fillet
with the SHIFT key modifier, not the CTRL and/or
ALT key modifier.
- The eye dropper tool does not paste arrow
head shapes on 68k versions.
- Rotated symbols are not always being placed
in framed walls correctly.
- When you click on the endpoint of a horizontal
or a vertical line, the angle constraint toggles
on or off. When you double click, the Angle
Snaps dialog comes up. Neither of these reactions
should occur.
- It is not redrawing after use 'Light Creation
dialog' with Next Click box turned ON.
- A system error occurs when I use the Undo
command after using the Wall Framer tool.
- Link Text to Record
- Symbols do not properly adjust their bounds to include long linked text.
- Change Symbol Name
with resource palette
does not update the name
on the info palette.
- Dash styles 17-24 cannot be deleted from
the Edit Dash Styles dialog.
- Undo for 3D mirror undoes the previous step.
- On windows, select close or control-W when
no windows are open & you will crash with
an access violation.
- Dropping locked documents on MiniCAD for
PowerPC sometimes causes a crash.
- Can't change the line style (dash style) of objects if I've created too many dash styles. This seems to break when I have more than 16 styles.
