Seattle Vectorworks User GroupOctober 23 Meeting Notes
Group members brought some project documentation. Tom G showed rendered printouts of a project with the v2015 textures containing 3d surface hatches for Hidden Line. Very nice! Rick S brought paper plans of early As-Builts for a renovation of a 1900s brick structure which was originally 2 buildings sharing a wall. The floor levels don’t match, walls bulge, etc. A 3d model is in progress. Ross showed use of the v2015 Deform tool Bend mode in vwx model of his snap together coffee press and talked about the patent drawing submission. Perri showed early work on a public art concept based on medic/rescue team cardio data. Benson showed old and new renderings of a project reopened after about 6 years. He compared renderings from a file created in v2009 and jumped up through many versions to v2015. File survived the conversions and functions well.
We looked at some of the new features in v2015 including the curtain wall/storefront improvements, textures with Surface Hatch. We discussed EAP for modeling moldings and touched on Levels and Layers. That will be a demo topic at a future meeting.
