DoublEdge Design LLC is a small architectural lighting design firm located in Baltimore, MD. We have a very eclectic practice that includes interior and exterior lighting for art centers, theaters, museums, retail, multifamily, office, hospitality, education and houses of worship. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Full time position in our Baltimore office * You will design, develop and document various project types * You will support design projects with exceptional design thinking, project imagery, design research, and project documentation * Some travel required for meetings, site visits and commissioning * Create lighting plans, elevations, sections, details and schedules * Create conceptual sketches and renderings * Budgeting of lighting designs * Create graphic communications for clients and colleagues to effectively convey complex conceptual design ideas * Assemble lighting specifications and product cut sheets * Communicate with manufacturers reps for pricing and product information REQUIREMENTS: * Proficient with Vectorworks (2D/3D drafting, records and worksheets) * Proficient in common computers skills including Excel, Power point, Word, Acrobat * Intermediate ability with Photoshop * Familiarity with IESNA guidelines and lighting design best practices * Proficient in AGi32 (or other lighting simulation software) * Have a high level of proficiency in the production of graphic communication * Have excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills - detail orientated * Calm demeanor and interpersonal skills * Must have the ability to prioritize, is a self-starter and can work without supervision * Bachelor Degree (or higher) in Architectural or Theatrical Lighting Design / Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or Electrical Engineering PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Lighting Certified (LC) and/or IALD Membership * LEED accreditation * Practical experience in the architectural lighting design industry Salary is commensurate with experience.
