Robert Anderson

Robert Anderson, VP of Integrated Practice

Robert leads the Integrated Practice team at Nemetschek Vectorworks. In this role, he oversees the direction and scope of new product development. He also acts as an industry liaison with standards agencies, competitors, and customers. In addition, Robert is a software architect and has designed features for the Vectorworks Architect software, 2D/3D integration, and interoperability capabilities.

Robert is a professional architect and brings more than 20 years of architecture experience to his role at Nemetschek Vectorworks. Prior to joining the company, Robert was an architect with DCHSA Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas. He was previously the owner and principal of an architectural and CAD consulting practice, and also served as a partner in a facilities management company.

Upon joining Nemetschek Vectorworks, Robert led a team of programmers developing the initial releases of the Industry Series products. He has been instrumental in the continuing evolution of Vectorworks software's BIM capabilities.

He graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. and later a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Rice University. He sits on the board of the buildingSMART alliance and is an active member of several committees, and he has lectured and instructed at various educational institutions including his alma mater, Rice University, and the University of Texas.

Ben Atwood

Ben Atwood, Software Engineer

As a software engineer, Ben focuses on Vectorworks Landmark product features, such as hardscapes and plants, and he is particularly passionate about the program's GIS capabilities.

Ben earned a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Rochester, and he will soon be celebrating his five-year anniversary with Nemetschek Vectorworks. Prior to joining the company, Ben worked in the computer storage industry, specifically in data storage virtualization. His experiences have enabled him to be comfortable with large-scale projects that have established code bases. Ben is a creative thinker with a drive to make a difference and ensure that the company remains on the cutting edge of innovative technologies.

Frank Brault

Frank Brault,Spotlight Product Specialist
Frank serves as the user education specialist at Nemetschek Vectorworks, developing curriculum for software education and promoting best practices in teaching the Vectorworks software. He also writes the software’s Getting Started Guides tutorials.

Frank has more than 30 years of experience in theater and lighting design, software development, and training. He has personally trained more than 1,500 Vectorworks users through seminars, on-site training sessions, and webinars. He previously served as the principal North American trainer and developer of course materials for Nemetschek Vectorworks and developed the course material for the company’s Professional Learning Series self-guided training program. He also created the Theatrical Lighting Toolkit, which was the precursor to the Vectorworks Spotlight product, and designed and coded the first version of the Vectorworks Landmark application.

Prior to joining Nemetschek Vectorworks, Frank was the Facilities Design Consultant for Imero Fiorentino Associates in New York, N.Y., where he managed a variety of projects, including the lighting redesign during the 1991 renovation of Madison Square Garden. In 1989, he was nominated for a prestigious Lumen Award for excellence in lighting design from the Illuminating Engineering Society.

He began his career as a production manager at The Boston Conservatory, where he designed more than 100 theater, opera, music, and dance productions. Frank holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Arts and Architecture from Penn State University and is working toward a Master of Fine Arts in Design from the University of Massachusetts. He currently teaches a design course at Towson University.


Kristin Bukovsky

Kristin Bukovsky, Landmark Team Manager

In addition to leading the Landmark and Fundamentals sales team, Kristin attends landscape industry tradeshows and events across the U.S., consults with current and potential users, and provides feedback to the company's engineering and marketing departments. She received the company's Salesperson of the Year award in 2006.

Kristin studied Art and Design and earned a degree in Computer Aided Design, and is working towards a degree in Corporate Communications from the University of Baltimore. She is a member of the American Marketing Association.

Darick DeHart, Architectural Features Manager

As Architectural Features Manager, Darick oversees the development of architectural features, including walls, doors, and windows, and establishes how these features fit into an openBIM workflow. He is inspired by the innovative ideas created by the designers who use Vectorworks software. Darick considers managing a team of creative, driven software engineers the most rewarding part of his job.

Darick earned a B.S. in Computer Science Engineering from Bucknell University. After graduation, he developed custom software for medical research for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Darick joined Nemetschek Vectorworks in 1996 as a software engineer. He was promoted to Features Manager in 2000, and then named Landmark Features Manager in 2005. He has held his current position of Architectural Features Manager since 2009. Darick's work ethic, strong communication skills, and his passion for understanding customer problems make him a valuable member of the Nemetschek Vectorworks team.

Dave Donley

David Donley, Rendering Manager

As Rendering Manager, Dave focuses on the OpenGL and Renderworks features of the software, particularly the textures, shadows, and artistic effects that enhance the models created by end users. He is passionate about targeted features, which are not only clean and elegant, but reduce the number of steps required to achieve a desired effect.

Dave earned a B.S. in Computer and Information Science from The Ohio State University. He has been with the company for 16 years. He began as a software engineer, then progressed to senior software engineer, and was promoted to his current role as Rendering Manager in 2010. Dave has always been passionate about computer programming, and he has been programming on his own for over 30 years. He particularly enjoys graphics programming because it is demanding, interesting, and always uses the latest hardware and technology.

Theresa Downs

Theresa Downs, Director of Global Communications

Theresa leads the global communications team at Nemetschek Vectorworks and focuses on projects that improve the global brand awareness of Vectorworks software in the architecture, landscape, entertainment, and interior design industries. She runs the company's news site, Planet Vectorworks, and oversees the company's public relations efforts as well as the development of website content and marketing materials. As the primary contact for the company's global network of distributors, she also organizes two international conferences per year.

Prior to joining Nemetschek Vectorworks in 2004, Theresa was the director of public relations and special events for The Charleston Group in Baltimore, and she previously worked as an account executive at The JB Cumberland Group in New York where she developed and implemented strategic public relations and media campaigns for major consumer product manufacturers and high-tech companies.

After graduating from college, Theresa spent three years as an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher for the American International Academy in Taipei, Taiwan. She then moved to Freiburg, Germany to work on her master's degree and taught English to corporate executives at the German-American House "Carl Schurz Haus" and Berlitz Language School in her free time.

Theresa holds a M.A. in Modern History from the University of Freiburg and a B.A. in Public Relations/Communications from Carroll College.

Marcus Dulin

Marcus Dulin, Architect Team Manager

Marcus is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships for the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction Industries in the U.S. He also attends trade-shows, creates corporate and online demos, and hosts VIP events and user group meetings in major cities across the U.S

Marcus earned a B.S. in Corporate Communications from Ithaca College. Since joining the company in 2004, he has promoted continuous growth and exceeded his yearly sales goals.

Sean Flaherty

Sean Flaherty, CEO

Sean Flaherty is Chief Executive Officer of Nemetschek Vectorworks, Inc., the developer of Vectorworks software. The Vectorworks line of software products provides professional design solutions for more than 450,000 designers in the AEC, entertainment, and landscape design industries. As CEO, Sean provides strategic leadership to the company and works with the Board of Directors and Executive Management Team to establish and meet company sales, growth, and market share objectives.

An innovator and proponent of computer aided design (CAD) software for more than 25 years, Sean is an industry veteran who has played an instrumental part in creating design software that works the way designers think. He was also a proponent of Building Information Modeling (BIM) before it became an industry trend.

He began his career as a software engineer with Diehl Graphsoft Inc. and was hired to add 2D drafting for MiniCAD, the precursor to Vectorworks software, which was only 3D. He took on increasingly more management-focused roles and was Vice President of Engineering when Diehl Graphsoft merged with Nemetschek AG in 2000. After serving as Chief Technology Officer, he was named CEO in 2005. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland.

Wes Gardner

Wes Gardner, Assoc. AIA, Building Industry Expert

Wes utilizes his BIM expertise, building product and architectural intelligence, and professional experience to advise the Vectorworks product development team and support the U.S. sales and marketing team. He works with top architecture firms to understand their needs and goals, and demonstrates how the Vectorworks software can help them successfully deliver projects while incorporating BIM concepts. He also works directly with the Vectorworks user community to overcome everyday challenges, encourage BIM workflows, and maximize productivity and efficiency.

Wes earned a B.A. degree in Architecture from the University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to joining Nemetschek Vectorworks in 2007, he worked with commercial and residential firms, including a three-year tenure at Charles E. Anthony Architects. Wes's team earned AIA design awards on numerous projects including the Phillip's residence home/monastery renovation in Annapolis, MD and the Temple Beth Shalom sanctuary addition in Arnold, MD.

Eric Gilbey

Eric Gilbey, RLA, ASLA, Prof. Member APLD, Landscape Industry Specialist

Eric utilizes his professional experience, including membership in the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD), and the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET), as well as CAD skills to assist in the development, marketing, and sales of the Vectorworks Landmark software. Eric's experience as a registered landscape architect and user of various CAD programs allows him to help landscape architects and designers develop best practices such as sustainable design.

Eric received an AAS degree in Landscape Contracting and Construction and a B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture from The Ohio State University. He currently serves as the president-elect for the ASLA Maryland Chapter's executive committee, while serving on ASLA's Professional Practice Committee, BIM Working Subcommittee, and LARE Prep Committee.

Eric also writes and speaks on behalf of several green industry associations on digital technology in site design.

Jaime Guitierrez

Jaime Gutierrez, CAD Consultant

Jaime is a CAD consultant, specializing in the Vectorworks Spotlight product. He creates and maintains customer relationships and continuously looks for new opportunities to expand the market. He earned an Aviation degree from Escuela de Aviacion Del Pacifico in Pereira, Colombia. He also studied accounting at Colombo-French Institute, and earned a minor in management engineering from Universidad Catolica de Manizales, both located in Manizales, Colombia.

Jaime is a member of International Association of Exhibits and Events (IAEE) and completed the prestigious Dale Carnegie sales training and presentation program. He received the Nemetschek Vectorworks "President's Award" in 2007 for his dedication and assistance to the sales team.

Mark Hewick

Mark Hewick, U.S. Sales Director

Mark leads and manages the U.S. sales and training teams to ensure that they reach their monthly and annual goals. He partners with the U.S. marketing team to ensure the communication of a cohesive brand message across all marketing and sales functions. Additionally, he works with the customer service and technical support teams to ensure customer satisfaction with the Vectorworks software.

Mark has been with the company for 13 years. He initially began his career at Nemetschek Vectorworks as a technical support representative and soon moved into a technical support manager position. He switched to a sales representative position in 2000, where he was recognized with the "#1 Salesman" award for five consecutive years. He was promoted to sales manager, and then to his current role of U.S. sales director.

Prior to joining the company, Mark worked as a geo-technical engineer for Penniman & Browne and as a drafter/designer for Planning, Engineering & Landscape Architecture (PELA).

Nina Ivanova, Interoperability and Support Manager

As Interoperability and Support Manager, Nina manages the import/export functionality of Vectorworks software and leads the development team in a variety of vertical product support initiatives. She also oversees the Bulgarian branch of engineering operations for Nemetschek Vectorworks. She is passionate about working with driven engineers and finishing projects with the utmost attention to detail.

Nina earned a M. Sc. in Informatics from the University of Sofia, in Bulgaria. She also completed a post-graduate course in Applied Mathematics and Informatics at the University of Mining and Geology, in Bulgaria. Prior to joining Nemetschek, Nina worked as a computer programmer for the University of Mining and Geology, as a lead developer for warehouse and accounting software for a small Bulgarian company, and as an accounting software developer for an international Italian company. She has worked for Nemetschek Bulgaria since 2000, initially as a software engineer, and as Interoperability and Support Manager since 2010.

Steve Johnson

Steve Johnson, User Interaction Manager

As User Interaction Manager, Steve focuses on the end user's interaction with Vectorworks software, specifically model manipulation and imaging. He recently led the 2D/3D integration effort, which he views as a symbol of the company's long-term focus. Steve is passionate about making the user experience tactile, comfortable, fun, and rewarding.

Steve earned a B.S. degree in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. He spent a few years teaching high school math and physics and coaching soccer before joining Nemetschek Vectorworks in 1993. Steve's experience and creative problem solving skills enable him to help move the company's legacy forward while preserving the essence of the Vectorworks product line.

Matt Jurick

Matt Jurick, CAD Consultant

Matt is a CAD consultant, specializing in the Vectorworks Architect product. He creates and maintains customer relationships and strives to ensure users' success with the software. He received the company's "Salesperson of the Year" award in 2007.

Matt began his career as a home-improvement sales representative, which taught him to be self-sufficient. He recently celebrated his 5th anniversary as a member of the Nemetschek Vectorworks team.

Nick La Forest

Nick La Forest, Global Solutions Support Specialist

Nick manages a variety of projects in the global product marketing department at Nemetschek Vectorworks, including the student portal, the trial experience, and elements of the Vectorworks Service Select subscription program. He has also worked on the production of feature videos, particularly for the Vectorworks Spotlight product, and has exhibited and presented on behalf of the company at entertainment industry trade shows, including LDI and USITT (the United States Institute for Theatre Technology conference).

He joined the Nemetschek Vectorworks team in 2005 as a CAD consultant. He next filled dual roles managing training services and education programs. He received the company's President's Award in 2006. In his spare time, Nick remains active in the entertainment industry by doing lighting and sound work for community events. He holds a B.S. in Architectural Building Engineering Technology from the New England Institute of Technology.

Lisa Lance

Lisa Lance, PR Specialist

As a member of the global marketing communications team, Lisa develops and manages public relations campaigns, conducts media outreach, and cultivates relationships with U.S. and international media. She also writes and edits communications materials and assists in creating content for the company's news site, Planet Vectorworks. In addition, she manages Nemetschek Vectorworks' social media efforts and educates staff and channel partners on social media best practices.

Lisa began her career at Fleishman-Hillard International Communications. She next worked as a copywriter, senior copywriter, and ultimately copy chief for the Famous-Barr division of The May Department Stores Company. After May Company was purchased by Macy's in 2006, Lisa took on the role of marketing manager for men's and children's apparel for the company's Macy's Midwest Division. She also managed the marketing efforts for retail and corporate gift card sales. Prior to joining Nemetschek Vectorworks in 2010, Lisa was a senior account executive at Common Ground Public Relations, where she served clients in the business and financial services, hospitality, health care, education, and non-profit industries.

Lisa earned a B.A. in Communications/Public Relations from Purdue University and will complete a M.A. in Writing from Johns Hopkins University in 2012.

Jay Lawson

Jay Lawson, Sales Associate

Jay provides customized software solutions for designers in the landscape and machine design industries. He earned a B.A. in Broadcast and Mass Communications from The State University of New York at Oswego and brings to Nemetschek Vectorworks more than 10 years of experience working as a sales professional.

Kevin Linzey

Kevin Linzey, Software Engineer

Kevin manages the development of new features for the Vectorworks Spotlight software program. He also serves as an entertainment industry specialist for Nemetschek Vectorworks and has given presentations at national events such as LDI, USITT (the United States Institute for Theatre Technology conference), and the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.

Kevin joined Nemetschek Vectorworks in 1999 as a member of the Integrated Practice department, and he took on the primary responsibility of developing the Vectorworks Spotlight software in 2001. Prior to joining the company, he worked as a freelance technician. He has also worked as a technical director, production manager, rigging installer, pyrotechnician, and master electrician in numerous venues throughout the East Coast.

He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Towson University. He remains active in the lighting design community and frequently serves as a technician for productions at The Stephens Hall Theatre on the campus of his alma mater.

Pablo Lora

Pablo Lora, Entertainment Team Manager

Pablo is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships for the Entertainment Industry in the U.S. He also attends trade-shows, creates corporate and online demos, and hosts VIP events and user group meetings in major cities across the U.S.

He has been with the company for seven years and received the "Rookie of the Year" award his first year with the company. Pablo will graduate in 2011 with a degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland-University College.

Biplab Sarkar

Biplab Sarkar, CTO

As CTO, Biplab leads a team of software engineers and managers, quality assurance specialists, and technical writers to develop the feature set for the Vectorworks software. He continually seeks out technology innovations and evaluates the competitive landscape to ensure the Vectorworks software remains a best-in-class CAD and BIM solution for designers in the architecture, landscape, and entertainment industries.

Biplab has 25+ years of experience developing CAD software. He began his career as a Software Engineer at ICEM Systems, and later became a Software Consultant at Intergraph. Prior to joining the Nemetschek Vectorworks team, he served as Director of R&D at Parametric Technology Corporation. In this role he led a large international team of programmers in both the U.S. and India.

He started at Nemetschek Vectorworks in 2000 as Manager of Geometry and Rendering and was promoted to CTO in 2008. During his time with the company, he has enhanced the power and capability of the Vectorworks software with the implementation of robust 3D solids and surface modeling tools, and he was instrumental in the adoption of the Parasolid® modeling kernel. He also oversaw the evolution of Renderworks into a premier rendering application, now built on the powerful CINEMA 4D render engine. He continues to advance the BIM capabilities of the Vectorworks software by improving architectural modeling tools and support for interoperability.

Biplab earned a Ph.D. in CAD and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at The Ohio State University. He also holds a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

Luis Ruiz

Luis M. Ruiz, Architectural Industry Specialist

Luis brings his architecture expertise to the product marketing team at Nemetschek Vectorworks to produce materials used by the company's channel partners around the world. He creates innovative designs and presentation files to showcase the capabilities of the Vectorworks software for architecture-specific demonstrations, as well as feature videos for the full line of the Vectorworks products.

A native of Mexico City, Luis also provides support to Latin American Vectorworks users and distributors by giving in-person demonstrations at product launch and student events, recording voiceovers for Spanish-language tutorial videos, and participating in forums such as the company's Spanish-language community board.

Luis earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Universidad del Valle de Mexico (UVM). Prior to joining Nemetschek Vectorworks, he was a senior designer at LineSync Architecture in Vermont. He was also previously co-owner of Arquidesk, a design-build firm in Mexico.

He has given software demonstrations at universities and Apple stores and at industry events including American Institute of Architects Conventions and Macworld Mexico.

Rubina Siddiqui, Assoc. AIA, Architectural Industry Expert

Rubina utilizes her BIM knowledge and architectural experience to assist with the development of Vectorworks products and to support the U.S. sales and marketing team. She works with architects to understand their needs and goals, and demonstrates how Vectorworks BIM workflows can benefit their projects. Rubina is passionate about Vectorworks' role in presenting openBIM to architects as a technology tool.

Rubina earned a B.S. in Geology and Earth Science from George Washington University and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Tennessee. As a geologist, Rubina worked for the Climate History division of the U.S. Geological Survey. After earning her master's degree, Rubina worked as both a project architect and a BIM manager for firms focusing on institutional projects, particularly schools. Rubina is an Associate member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), as well as an active member and volunteer of both the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) and Architectural In Schools (AIS).

Vladislav Stanev

Vladislav Stanev, Vertical Products Manager

Vlado is a technical and vertical products manager focused on the Vectorworks Landmark and Spotlight products. He was instrumental in the development of module plug-ins, which allow third party developers to create more complex plug-ins for Vectorworks software. He also played a key role in the development of site modeling features in the Vectorworks Landmark application, as well as in the development of the software's GIS capabilities. He enjoys introducing and incorporating new technology into the software.

Vlado earned a B.S. in Informatics and Mathematics at the University of Sofia in Bulgaria. He worked for Nemetschek Bulgaria for eight years before transferring to Nemetschek Vectorworks in Columbia, MD, in 2007 as a software engineer. He was promoted to his current management role in 2008. Vlado enjoys finding solutions to challenging problems and prides himself on maintaining a friendly, open work environment among his team. His extensive knowledge of software design, as well as his detail-oriented research and analysis of new features, are invaluable assets to the company.
